About Us

Paul "Grampy" Mateer has been practicing the art of magic for over 40 years.  He became “hooked” on the art when he saw his first magician at the age of 6 years old.  He has honed his craft by spending many an hour reading and absorbing every book he could find on the subject as a young child.  He learned from the masters, including Bill Severn, Walter Gibson, and Mark Wilson to name a few.  At the age of 13 he performed his first, paying, magic show for a senior citizens club for the princely sum of $20 .    As life began to “get in the way”, he stopped performing, but never lost his love of magic.  Fast-forward 20 years when one day his daughter asked him to perform for  his grand daughter’s birthday party.  He was hooked again and started “Grampy’s Magic”,  performing for children’s parties.
